A palpable tension permeates the air. The smell of espresso and Red Bull saturates the nostrils and if you strain… you can just make out the clickity clack of nervous, bleary-eyed Cat 4s and 5s hitting REFRESH REFRESH REFRESH all around the State of Illinois.

It’s the race that precedes the race to the start line which precedes the actual race… it’s the RACE TO REGISTER.

Who will emerge victorious at Monday’s Spring Super Criterium and Hillsboro Roubaix Registraion events? Who will be left home, training on empty roads and doomed to read race recaps on the interwebs?

Sure the Pros got a face full of frost at the SSC last year, but they deserve it for being fast. Who can forget opening the ‘08 season in shorts! http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2004/2394230335_4a76976736_b.jpg *

Good luck all! Play fair, no hitting below the belt… and see you EIGHT Weeks from Saturday.

*Edmund White credit!

Bizarre reg time. I have to find a proxy reg who knows how to deal with bikereg’s quirks. A lot of employers don’t take kindly to folks using their work computers or time for private stuff.

Outside of work hours. Anytime on Weekend is best and fairest.

I think you meant to link here for Barry Wick’s blog

And it appears the answer is more than 22 slices...and some pizza.
