- » This weekend is the Great Egyptian Omnium, a chance to do a stage race downstate. Registration closes tonight.
» Registration is open for the July 30 Grayslake Cycling Classic.
» The Tour of Elk Grove, a prestigious UCI event this year, needs volunteers and host housing. Contact Diane Patterson to help. Also note that this is a rare local NRC-level stage race for women, and it’s open to Cat 1’s and 2’s. In addition, there is once again significant prize money available to all amateur categories.
» There was an effort to quickly organize an alternative race to replace the Aug. 21 Evanston NRC event, but that date is now officially off the National Racing Calendar.
» Construction of the Chicago Velo Campus temporary velodrome continues apace, but volunteers are needed every day. Follow its Facebook page for updates and information about how to help.
» Brian Ellison (Chicago Cuttin’ Crew) continues to recover from his serious crash at the Kenosha Velodrome a few weeks ago. The Teen Dream Fund is soliciting funds to help get him back on two wheels.
» Half Acre Cycling is hosting a Sept. 10 cross clinic for women.
» Relay Cross will return to Jackson Park on Aug. 28. The Chicago Cyclocross Cup will start a few weeks later at the same location on Sept. 18.

Anybody happen to have any updates on the girl who was injured at Grayslake yesterday? Very unfortunate incident… hopefully everything is ok.
