For one week only, South Chicago Wheelmen’s Tuesday night races this week will take place in Joliet at the Autobahn Country Club, a 1.5-mile, 9-turn course similar to the race track used at the Spring Super Criterium. As usual racing will start at 6 p.m., but entry fees will be $23 to cover rent and insurance.

Badass! Wouldn’t it be cool to have several Chicagoland area races on motorsport tracks? One can dream…

I got the impression from Steve F. that while Tuesday night is an experiment, they’re looking at it as a possible site for several races next year.

Awesome track.  Fun two races with about 40 racers showing.
Excellent wide corners and road surface where you can corner with a lot of confidence.

Good times.  My legs hurt, is it next Tuesday yet?

What he said. Fantastic training race, probably the best I’ve had all season. Fast pace, no braking, and I we were able to put simple team tactics into practice. PLUS they lowered the reg fee to $20. Thank you SCW & please let’s have some repeats in 2010.
