Haha Luke, the caffeine DNA story is shocking for two reasons:

1) I can’t believe the police cared enough to perform a DNA test...maybe times have changed but DNA tests used to be thousands of dollars (but maybe the shop paid for it?).  I know I’m not a business but Chicago wouldn’t even send an officer out - I filled out a report over the phone when my bike was stolen.

2) Even with a DNA test, your suspect’s DNA has to be in your database or you’ll get no match—though here they again were lucky as a prior felon his DNA was in the state’s records.

While “HotLanta” is amazing in its ownright, one should not underestimate the “awesomeness” of the Northwoods in late May.

7.5 hours to Duluth

TT
RR
RR (through Jay Cooke State Park...amazing views)
Criterium

The discount on registering is ending soon, but this is a great option for those that don’t want to go to the Quad Cities.

I saw the Seattle bike theft story on Slowtwitch and got the update that the suspect had committed suicide a few days ago.  Here’s the story:

Sad end for a guy who was living a double life with a dark side.

BTW, the UK has been flirting with the idea of a national DNA database for all citizens.  Having worked in several labs and been my own control for a few experiments, my DNA is everywhere.  There goes my life of crime.

The cat3 field for the timed race is getting more and more people in it. Some from Madison, Alberto’s and Vision Quest.

Cool kids go to Duluth.
