- » The popular Gateway Cup in St. Louis over Labor Day weekend is making a push for more female athletes. Race fees are lower, the total purse is generous (with primes for the 4's!) and housing is available.
» Also for women, next Thursday is the Elaine Neikritz Trophy Race at the Northbrook Velodrome, a $1,000 35-lap scratch race. It's a women's open race, but there is also a women's 4's race on the schedule.
» The idea of Sunday Parkways, in which portions of the boulevard system will be closed to motorized traffic, is finally becoming a reality, sort of. John Greenfield has the scoop and some commentary.
» The Quad Cities area mourns Craig Schultz, a doctor and bike racer who was killed Thursday morning. Police arrested a driver and charged him with leaving the scene of a fatal crash.
» Do you use Look Keo pedals?
» Meet The Chainlink, your latest social network for Chicago cyclists.
» While I was on vacation a local newspaper acknowledged bike racing's existence.

Thanks for the post about the Keos. I rode down to Mission Bay this afternoon, had ‘em check ‘em out, hung around and looked at pretty bikes for 5 minutes, and slap-bang had some new threads already at no charge. They were really nice about it, and I’m glad I don’t have that underlying fear about my pedals every time I ride now.
