The good news is that I’m online almost all waking hours I’m not on my bike, and save for personal attacks or improper use of the apostrophe, I won’t pass any editorial judgments.
Yeah, once I get a chance to look under the hood I’ll get a better solution worked out. Captcha’s are slightly less annoying that an approval process, but hopefully it can be done without either.

not sure how/where should i submit this, it probably belongs to the “reader questions”, but i didn’t find any “post a comment” entries in that category, neither at the “tips” category…
anyhow, i’ve recently been practising some out-of-saddle sprints, usually coming out of 90degree corners, as soon as i start pulling on the drops and push down hard on the cranks, my front end starts to float as if i’m trying to do a wheelie, regardless i’ve shifted my body weight to the front by standing up. usually the front just lifts a couple of inches from the ground on downstroke, but it’s the sideway hopping that i’m concerned about, is there a correct/safer way to do sprints like these? am i just using the wrong gear/cog? i’m still new to the whole “finding the right gear” idea, any tips on that? do experienced racers actually keep track of which gear they’re on without peeking at the rear deraileur?

Hey Luke, I will let you responde to Jason, but this question is an excellent question to be posed on a forum. Have you thought about adding a forum to the website? I think it would be a cool addition.
A forum is something I’ve thought of and several people have asked about, but I’m unsure right now. 1. Would enough people use it to make it worth it? 2. How much work would it be to make sure people behaved? 3. Would it provide any service not already covered by Bike Forums?
I’ll meditate on it over the off-season. In the meantime I’ll see what kind of community the community nurtures. (So far, so good!)
1. Yes, based on the number of comments here.
2. Probably not much, but you could always delegate that if you had the ability to give admin authority for forums only. Or, just ask people to email you if there is a problem. The guy who does bikejournal.com has delegated the forum moderation to a number of active users.
3. I don’t use Bike Forums. The forum here would be racing specific. Categories like training, equipment, nutrition, races, teams or whatever.

have you tried captchas? it requires users to read jpg/gif image and enter code on the image before submitting comments, just an idea. great site btw!
