Bike Snob outed: I should have guessed; the cadence, allusions, and snarkiness of the text indicate a publishing professional, for certain. The industry is rampant with this style of critique, even in water cooler conversation. Good sleuthing! But has this unveiling changed anything? I think not - the work is enjoyable and it is the text we should celebrate, not the creator. If anonymity was merely Bike Snob’s inner plea to be noticed, his mystery like a calling card, making up for the less entertaining, duller and tedious entries that inevitably populate the blog, we should not reward him with recognition. Leave it at Bike Snob, and let the Eben be consumed in shadow.

There was a NYTimes article a while ago where the reported met with BSNYC and he said he worked at a publisher. Apparently Lance met with him as well. Anonymity is great… see http://www.zerohedge.com for really great (non cycling) work.

Bikesnob was going to out himself soon anyway, when his book was released.
