Question re: Fall Fling --

The fields are set up as open categories by age group - & in one field the Men’s 50+ is scheduled along with the Women’s 1/2/3.  Doesn’t this mean that the men & women could work together in the race? In other mixed category races ( 30+ w/ 40+, etc.) that has been my experience.

I noticed that registration for the State RR was taken off bikereg.  Is the race still on?

Racer X,
Short Answer: Yes.
Long Answer: The state RR is still in the planning stages and the BikeReg page was taken down (registration was not open anyway) until all permits, etc have been put in place per USAC guidelines. Tower Racing is working hard to get everything in order and should have updates for us all very soon. Stay tuned!

I don’t see it either, but traditionally it is 10 miles, give or take.

Here’s your TT route: 7.75 miles.

I really don’t understand why ABD clings to Maple Park for the John Fraser and Fall Fling TTs. When it was an honest 10 mile course it was great. When the cops put the kabosh on directing traffic at the stop sign we ended up with a far less than ideal course. Between the courses used by MATTS and the CTTS I find it difficult to understand how a 10 mile or perhaps 20 km course can’t be found.

ABD does a great job of hosting events, I’m sure if they had something different they would use it.  8 miles in the spring and fall.....no biggie. Plus it has become kind of a classic course.

If every Chicago club hosted one event as well as ABD hosts all of theirs we would be famous for having the best race scene in the country bar none. My comment about Maple Park isn’t a criticism so much as a suggestion. The race is always run brilliantly. I just think it could be on an improved course.
