Grand jury indicts Thomas Lynch

A grand jury on Wednesday indicted Thomas Lynch on six counts of aggravated battery and one count of failure to stop after an accident causing injuries in connection with September's paceline incident on St. Mary's Road. These are felony charges, largely in relation to just two of the 17 victims, and the state's attorney may add additional counts to reflect the full scope of the alleged attack. (Full disclosure: I was one of the 17 riders in the paceline.)

This is a major step toward trial. Lynch will be arraigned and enter a plea at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 27, at the Lake County Courthouse.

thank goodness the law is working so far. i don't know why such things would even be in question.
cars are inherently dangerous to everyone outside of them even when they aren't used violently. in this case, this guy allegedly took it to the next level, and the law is acting accordingly.

Woohoo - I was getting a little saddened to read that more road rage recently occurred to some other friends of ours out training near Indiana and down south.

It is some pretty scary stuff out there with them cars driving evilly. Here's to a hopefully non-incidental St. Mary's year.
