2008 Superweek dates
Go ahead and file those time-off requests at work, as International Cycling has posted dates for the 2008 Superweek: July 11-27.
The third weekend conflicts with the announced date of the inaugural Chicago Criterium. No other details are available yet, including whether the series will be returning to new hosts Blue Island and Evanston. Both were among the highlights of 2007, so here's hoping it does.

With Superweek ending so late this year, there seems that a race will need to overlap with Superweek or move to another part of the year. Normally, ABR's Illinois Crit Championship would be that weekend. Elk Grove is the first week in August, so I assume that Elgin and Grayslake will move to the 2nd weekend, Downers is next and Glencoe and Sherman Park are the next weekend. The last weekend in August is actually Labor Day weekend this year which usually doesn't have a race.
Anyone know when the IL crit champ is going to be in 2008 and how the rest of August will be laid out?

Sherman Park is moving to mid-June this year at the request of the city. The permit has already been filed. That should help ease the August crunch.

Please don't make Sherman Park the same weekend as the Carroll County RR. I love Sherman Park, but I really like that RR as it is the only race of its type in the area.
Come to think of it, we have a pretty good problem in the Chicago area: so many races... so little time.

Those losers are going to pull off another year? ("Jabba the hut" brothers)
Lame brain promoters!
How about better prize $ with a shorter schedule? (10 days) Duh, no need to get more $ just--> SHORTEN THE SERIES TO MAKE IT MORE INTERESTING! Better single day prize $! Come on!
The quote "new owners", are going to kill what little good name is left for this series.. It's pretty sad when someone who is not even a bike racer or has any background in it is trying to pull it off in a "good" way. ha ha..

Thomas, I'm afraid I have no idea what you're talking about. New ownership of International Cycling?
